Social Housing

The project in Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital city, locate in the Morne A Cabrit region, is a project which is designed as, 3, 4 and 5 storey buildings in a total area of 240.000 m2 area, 172 blocks (2748 dwelling) considering the social housing concept. Considering the yearly weather conditions of the territory, facades of the blocks were placed at the North-South sides, it helps the controlling of the natural light intake and solving the heat problem of the construction itself. Considering the economical and social conditions of the territory, the architectural was placed at the minimum solutions; the maximum simplicity and economical efficiency were taken into consideration. On the facade which belongs to the region’s local architecture, vivid and local colours were used and due to the mild climate conditions glass were taken out in order to reflect the project’s main architectural character. Both in the construction’s and region’s park, which were placed at the center, the public green is provided.

Elementary and High School

The project is designed for a total of 2328 students in the Mornea Cabrit area in the city center of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, with a 14.600 sqm construction area . It was taken into consideration that the building, which houses kindergarten, primary school, junior high school and high school education, has the needs of different age groups and specialized gardens while the function diagram is shaped. The main building in which the common areas such as laboratory, library, cafeteria and administration are located is designed with three different arms serving to different age groups are located in it. The corridors of the school have been left open to receive light and finished with hollow precast walls for natural ventilation.

Police Station

At the scope of the building the police station is designed at a total 485 sqm area. It is designed as a compact with a small jail and interrogation room with a constuction offices and equipment rooms. The atrium at the entrance of the building is designed both for lightening the entrance and providing the connection of the vertical vision of the floors. The windows used on the facade is designed as louvered considering the climate conditions. Thus, the natural refreshment and air motion are provided without spending any energy.

Government Building

At the scope of the building the local government building is designed at a total 1515 sqm area. There are open and close offices at the lower floors and the big conference halls at the top floor are considered as informing/educating speeches both for workers and public. The atrium at the entrance of the building is designed both for lightening the entrance and providing the connection of the vertical vision of the floors. The windows used on the facade is designed as louvered considering the climate conditions. Thus, the natural refreshment and air motion are provided without spending any energy.

Health Care Center

At the scope of the building the public clinic is designed at a total 1035 sqm area. At the ground floor, there is an emergency department connected to the parking area and laboratory serving to it, sterilization room, plaster room and recreation room besides the information desk, canteen, changing/resting room for the workers. At the up floor, there is a conference hall for the seminars besides the examination room and vaccine room. The atrium at the entrance of the building is designed both for lightening the entrance and providing the connection of the vertical vision of the floors. The windows used on the facade is designed as louvered considering the climate conditions. Thus, the natural refreshment and air motion are provided without spending any energy.

Market

At the scope of the building, the market construction of the region has a total 3075 m2 area. At the center, there is a total mass which acts as a main market place and around it there four classified masses which designed as shops. Due to the climate conditions of Haiti, the sunshades were used on the facades.
